These landscape staples work very well to hold down woven ground cover, especially when they are rusty. We learned that tip from Kevin and Sarah of Living Traditions Homestead.

Both my husband and I found the stakes difficult to poke through the ground cover. A couple actually bent trying to get them in. But it was inconsistent, some would go in without a porblem. Then we'd get a slew that didn't want to poke through the material.
